What you will study

Aims: To provide students with an understanding of business organizations in terms of types and structures, and the information systems needed to enable those business organizations to operate successfully within their environment; an understanding of the technologies and tools that may be used to support those information systems and their development.

Learning outcomes: Identify the information needed to support decision making at all levels within business organizations; Describe information systems and work flows that support the functional areas of business at the operational level, and explain how information may be used for planning, decision making and control; Demonstrate the basic principles of programming, and apply the techniques suitable for developing simple web applications; Demonstrate the communication and problem solving skills required by Information Systems professionals in the workplace.

Entry Requirements

Successful completion of the Foundation Diploma; GCSE with passes in 4 subjects or equivalent; Over 21 years old with two years work experience; Candidates of 19 years old may be admitted from the college where student is registered to study for IMIS qualifications.

Progression
