The IAM Level 6 Extended Diploma in Business and Administrative Management (Graduate) is an accredited qualification by Regulatory Authorities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The qualification is assessed through externally marked examinations and assignments. This Diploma is the equivalent of BA (Hons) Years 1, 2 and 3.

What you will study

The IAM Level 6 Extended Diploma in Business and Administrative Management (Graduate) supports those already working in, or aspiring to work in, strategic business management positions. Holders of the qualification will also be eligible for progression to various university degree programmes.

Curriculum and Assessment:
The qualification is made up of aspects from Level 4, 5 and 6. Years 2 and 3 are made up of 3 ‘Groups’ rather than units. Each Group covers between 2 and 3 different components. Each Group is assessed through a variety of different methods including formal examinations, controlled assessments, case studies and assignments. The qualification is structured around a total of 360 credits which is made up from Level 4 components (85 credits), Level 5 components (90 credits) and Level 6 components (185 Credits). Each group is assessed by one assignment or examination which covers all components of the group.

Group 3: Managing and Developing Human Resources in Organisations (25 Credits – Case Study)
- The Context of Corporate Governance.
- Leadership, Motivation and Group Dynamics.

Number of Assessments: 9

Examinations are set and marked by the IAM. Each examination is three hours long. Assignments are set by the IAM, marked by Holbrook College and moderated by the IAM.

On successful completion of each qualification unit, candidates will receive QCF certificates, including the transferable QCF credits they achieved by successful completion of the Unit. Units are not graded individually; students pass or fail but they will be informed of the percentage value of their achievement. On successful completion of the full qualification candidates will receive QCF qualification certificates graded pass, merit and distinction. Students who receive distinctions may receive prizes for their outstanding achievements at the IAM graduation ceremony.

Teaching Approaches:

Our experienced lecturers and tutors plan a variety of teaching methods and strategies to take account of the different ways in which students learn. Lessons may take the form of lectures, group based learning, seminars, tutorials, case studies, presentation, visual/ audio based learning, etc. Students are also asked to complete student feedback forms to enable our teachers to improve continuously and to allow any grievances to be resolved. Likewise Lecturers / Tutors will supply feedback and progress reports to students and the course management team for assist students in their progress and the final assessments as well as improving delivery of the course.

Entry Requirements:

IAM Certificate in Administrative Management, 2 years relevant work experience or A levels or NVQ Level 3 or Equivalent Qualifications.

Progression:

Once students have completed their IAM Level 6 Extended Diploma in Business and Administrative Management, they are able to progress from this qualification on to the IAM Level 7 Diploma in Business and Administrative Management (Postgraduate). Successful completion of the Level 6 Extended Diploma entitles students to full membership of the IAM. Students may supplement this IAM Level 6 Extended Diploma in Business and Administrative Management by completing the dissertation from selected Universities to achieve a relevant UK University Degree.
